Kim Brock Photography is going donation based || Lansing Family Photography
That’s right, for the next 6 months, Kim Brock Photography will be providing free photography services in exchange for a donation. I’m even taking it one step further. 100% of every donation will benefit REACH Studio Art Center in Lansing, MI.
REACH is a non profit community art studio that provides art programming to kids and adults in Greater Lansing, especially to those who have a difficult time finding access to the arts because of price or location. Cool stuff is always happening at REACH, weather it is building a Rhino for Potter Park Zoo or kids making their own fashions our of recycled materials or the Art Truck providing free art activities over the summer to Lansing Youth or some friends hanging out in the clay studio, throwing pottery! With so much going on, REACH has outgrown its small space on South Washington Ave and has purchased the whole adjoining rundown block to renovate and expand! Your whole donation will go towards the renovation fund!
I have been a volunteer at REACH Studio Art Center for many years and this past November, I began serving there as an AmeriCorps VISTA. VISTA is a division of the Corporation of National and Community Service. Think of it as sort of a domestic Peace Corps. VISTA members serve at non profits that serve the underprivileged. By provided a sort of extra employe at little cost, a VISTA can help build the organization’s capacity by designing and implementing procedures such as a volunteer coordination or fund development that a regular employee might not have time for.
I am super excited about this opportunity to serve REACH and my community, using my skills as a photographer, in a different way. I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and give generously!
